Vanessa Carlton - A Thousand Miles
Vanessa Carlton's debut single, "A Thousand Miles" first started off slow. The new talent nobody really knew about but finally came to them with this new single. "A Thousand Miles" has instantly became my favorite song of all time, and I just love this song. The single released in stores is also became one of my favorite singles. Although no remixes of the track, this still delivers a lot. This single was released WAY before Vanessa's album "Be Not Nobody" was released so it feautres some tracks that people wouldnt've heard yet. The individual reviews are below :: 1. A Thousand Miles - The greatest song I've heard in a long time. I really do LOVE this song, and I will never get tired of it. The piano, the orchestra, percussion, it's all fantastic. Overall, this song is great, and the single is definitely worth your cash. Wonderful song, great bonus tracks, great video. Just a fabulous single and a song that no one will ever get tired of hearing.

A breath of fresh air!
If you thought that overrated Alicia Keys was a breath of fresh air, well...Vanessa Carlton will give you twice as much fresh air! "A Thousand Miles" is a beautiful, Pop/Rock song. The lyrics are quite lovely (so is Vanessa's voice--at least SHE can sing!), and the song is very catchy. I wouldn't exactly call it an upbeat or ballad song. It's more like a midtempo. This CD-Single is great! It introduces us to the very talented Vanessa Carlton, who should already win the Grammy for Best New Artist in 2003! "Twilight" is also a very catchy song, and that song is recorded live, so you can hear how well she performs live on stage. This song is AMAZING! I'll have to admit that the first few times I heard it, I didn't really care much for it. But after a while it sort of grew onto me...and now I love it! The music video for "A Thousand Miles" (which is on the enchanced part of this CD), is very cool, too. I can't wait for Vanessa's debut album, which should hopefully come out soon. This CD-Single is great (like I mentioned before)--but we want more Vanessa Carlton! This CD-Single is not enough. Also, she is very talented at the piano keys. And she's a great songwriter. Move over, Alicia--you've got some strong competition!
If you like artists such as Michelle Branch, Angela Ammons, and Krystal Harris, then you'll love Vanessa Carlton! Buy this CD-Single...it's a must!
Not Very good/ From a musician
This is a song for the teeny bobbers...The piano playing is very simple...and for those who don't play music might think it is great... The truth is... Music wise ..It is very horrible...I am actually teaching a neighbor kid (that wants to learn) this song on piano..I heard it once.. and I got it down..So it very simple for beginners...She is not very talented...If I heard her play some thing classical and master it....Then I will give her my props....
The worst song of 2002...
This song is just plain bad. And even if it was good, it would be getting kinda overplayed after hearing it 1000 times on the radio.

Stellar start to a hopefully brilliant career
Sure, there may be people who are sick of "A Thousand Miles" due to its constant radio airplay, but I'm not one of them. I turn the radio up when it comes on and get an extra burst of energy when I'm working out and it comes on my MP3 player. It is my hope and my belief that many years from now, we will be able to look back at Carlton's enormously successful career and truly appreciate the brilliance with which it began.
Carlton's gifted musical talents are on full display in this debut effort. From the soft opening piano notes to the powerful orchestral arrangements in the middle, Carlton is clearly not going to for safe, generic first release. Her command of the music enhances it in such a way that you end up pondering lyrics and feeling the music long after the song goes off the air. This kind of talent and unlimited potential only comes along once in a blue moon. Hopefully, we will be graced with its presence for years to come.
