ALBUM: Snoop Dogg Presents Tha Eastsidaz Lyrics By: Eastsidaz Life Goes On
Snoop Dogg Presents Tha Eastsidaz Reviews Snoop can do better This group is talented. Tray Dee has done a lot of songs on some Death Row realeases, Snoop Dogg is a hip-hop legend, and Goldie Loc is a local friend of Snoop. But why ain't the album hitting right? Maybe 'cause theres too many songs and too much fillers, and it's packed full of guest rappers. If it would have been cutted down to about 15 songs it would have been much better. It's 21 songs, take away a few 'cause of the intro and some useless skits. Alright that was alot of negativity, it does have it's bright side too. They really shine on a couple of tracks and the song together with Bad Azz, is HOT. It's called "Ni''a 4 Life". There's a few other cuts I like, but it's just collection dust in my CD rack. Not worth buying unless you're a hardcore Snoop fan and want a couple of westcoast bangers. Pick any other Snoop album before this one, except for Da Game Is To Be Sold, Not To Be Told.A very nice album bringing back some good memories. Snoop came with his usual laid-back style on this album, and brought two of rapping partners, Tray D and Goldie Loc, to come share the wealth. Snoop raps more in his Doggystyle mode on this album, and Tray D definitely got some recognition after this came out, despite the fact he'd appeared on a huge number of other DPG-related songs prior to this release. Goldie Loc has a slightly annoying, heavy voice, but he is kept to more of a minimum here. Dr. Dre appears on the introduction to this album, though he doesn't contribute any more than that. Overall, though there are a couple weak songs such as "Now We Lay Them Down", and a couple others, there is good production done by Battlecat, Meech Wells, L.T. Hutton and Warren G. The beautiful summertime single "G'd Up" was an instant classic at the beginning of 2000, with its laid-back keyboards and breezy feel. "Big Bang Theory" is a tight posse cut with Xzibit and Kurupt connecting over this powerful Warren G beat. Tray D also shined on this track nicely. "Got Beef" was a diss aimed at Lil' C-Style and Swoop G of Death Row Records, and features Jayo Felony and Sylk E. Fine also making nice appearances. Tray D once again comes with an impressive verse and Snoop's verse lasted only about 20 seconds. "Ghetto Life" is a funky track with Kokane and Nate Dogg both singing. Kam also hooks the song up with a nice appearance. "Dogghouse" is a good track where The Eastsidaz all get a chance to represent over a funky guitar-laced beat along with Rappin' 4Tay and The Loccs. They have very diverse subject matter on this release as well, especially on deeper, laid-back songs like "Be Thankful", and Tray D's showcase on the smooth "LBC Thing". It's not necessarily fair to criticize this album because Snoop does return to his roots, and there aren't any weak No Limit guest appearances, Snoop even seems to have settled in a style he feels comfortable with, which may be why he used similar production and rapping styles on his late 2000 album which turned out even better, The Last Meal. Overall this was definitely a step in the right direction after the mediocrity of Da Game Is To Be Sold, Not To Be Told, and also showed Snoop could continue on to make an album that could compare with Top Dogg, which was actually quite good. Tray D needs a solo album as well, he is almost 40 years old, it's his time to shine.Snoop Dogg Presents Tha Eastsidaz [EXPLICIT LYRICS] Snoop Dogg Presents Tha Eastsidaz [EXPLICIT LYRICS] ~ Tha Eastsidaz and his posse produce an album that is crude, rude, sexy and nasty. Just like a snoop album should be like. Yeah, way to go snoop.SNOOP'S BEST CD SINCE ''THA DOGGFATHER'' THIS WAS SNOOP'S BEST CD IN YEARS. ''TOP DOGG'' WAS ACTUALLY GOOD, BUT IT'S NOT AS GOOD AS THIS! ON THIS ALBUM, SNOOP RAPS WITH HIS TWO HOMEBOYZ, GOLDIE LOC AND TRAY DEE. AND ON THIS ALBUM, THE OLD SNOOP DOGG SEEMS TO HAVE MADE A STRONG COMEBACK! BEST TRACKS ARE ''BIG BANG THEORY'', ''DOGGHOUSE'', ''TAKE IT BACK TO 85'', ''GIVE IT 2 EM DOGG'', AND ''GHETTO''. THIS IS THE MOST G'D UP ALBUM THAT SNOOP HAS DONE SINCE HE LEFT DEATH ROW FOR NO LIMIT! THIS CD IS DEFINITELY NOT TO BE SLEPT-ON!EaStSiDaZ Pretty cool album from Snoop's group Tha Eastsidaz this is a classic just like snoop by himself, cool beats, must have "It's 1999, my nigga," Snoop Dogg asserts on this posse album, which inaugurates his new Dogg House label. The problem isn't so much that its release comes in early 2000, but that the CD sounds like it was cryogenically frozen in late '93 and recently thawed. From its P-Funk samples to the overall Doggystyle vibe, Tha Eastsidaz owes nearly everything to the classic Death Row days; lyrically, Snoop and crew are likewise stuck in crime-'n'-bitches mode, but with little of the phrase-making skills of his best work. Serviceable at best, this disc sounds even lamer coming after the attitudinal advances of Dr. Dre 2001 . Now there's a record maker who knows what time it is. --Rickey Wright 2000 release. Debut album from Snoop Dogg's Dog House Records. West Coast rhymes from Tray Dee & Goldie Loc. Dr.Dre is featured on one track. Additional guest appearances by Jayo Felony, Sylk E. Fine, Warren G and more. Standard jewel case.
