Wow...
My friend was burning a copy of "Start Static" for a friend and her computer messed up her first copy, so i ended up with the jacked up version, with only songs 1-9 on it. With much hesitation, I decided to try this new band, since I love pop-punk music. After hearing "Hate Every Beautiful Day" I was in love. I came onto Amazon, found out what other albums I should get for bands that sound like them, bought their CD, and ended up spending $50 on other new cds. Sugarcults hyper, pop-punk sound is full of energy that you dont get tired of. With lyrics like, "I wish it was raining, cause I hate every beautiful day..." and "It's the way that he makes you feel, its the way that he kisses you, its that way he makes you fall in love..." will have most teenagers feeling like these boys truly know what high school is like. The cd has a good balance of fast-paced songs like "Bouncing Off the Walls", and slow ballads like "Crashing Down", so it fits any mood you happen to be in. Cant wait for the new cd that comes out on April 13th.

This CD is one of the best I've ever listened to.
The songs are awesome, and, unlike some other CDs, there is variation between the songs, they don't all sound the same.

If you like music AT ALL, buy this CD.

Great Punk Band!
Your the One: 4/5- Starts out lame, but gets alot better

Stuck in America: 5/5- Really good song on the cd, very catchy

Hate Every Beautiful Day: 3.5/5- Could have picked better lyrics, good chorus

Bouncing off the Walls: 5/5- Really good song, pretty good lyrics; although some are lame

Saying Goodbye: 5/5- Great song, great lyrics, great insturmentals, proboly the best on the album

Daddys Little Defect: 5/5- Extreamly catchy beat and lyrics, great chorus

Lost in You: 3/5- A slower one, but it works; gets a little boring after a while

Pretty Girl: 2.5/5- Weird beat, and not very good lyrics

Crashing Down: 3/5- Gets a little old, and isnt very eventful

How Does it Fell: 5/5- Starts out great, but the chorus isnt too great

I Changed My Name: 5/5- The only slow song on the album that works, very good

If you liked the music from the movie "Van Wilder", this album is definitly for you. Most of the songs from Van Wilder are on this cd.

good disc
I really like this band, my favorite songs on this cd are Pretty Girl and Bouncing off the Walls. In fact I found out about this band by watching this video online and the song that went with it was Pretty Girl, I just had to find out whose song it was. I also really love the hidden track that you have to keep listening for at the end of the cd. It's a slower and kind of jazzy feeling song that reminded me somewhat of 80's tunes. The whole cd is solid with some especially good songs on it.
This Santa Barbara band may look like The Jam, but they sound like surf punks with English degrees. Named after seven lesbians who lived across the hall from singer-guitarist Tim Pagnotta and dubbed themselves "sugarcult," this band fill the airwaves with their own brand of clever wretchedness, constantly veering between hardcore and pop punk, attempting to be all things to all listeners. And they come pretty close with their aerobic, bombastic drumming, nimble guitar work, and Pagnotta's sneering vocals. Luckily, they listened to enough Green Day and Elvis Costello to put a witty face on their spewing invective about dislocation, alienation, and tales of love gone bad that lands just this side of insincere. --Jaan Uhelszki
